I can't wait to see the rainbow, but someone doesn't look happy. What ya do....took her flowers away for a picture? Poor baby. Don't make my sweetie cry. Love to you all.
Mom, She is unhappy because we were finished with the part where you mix the dye and water with a spoon. She was making music and I stifled her creative talent. ;)
Melissa, It is a lot of food coloring for 1/4 cup of water. The Children used the entire bottles of food coloring. It took about 2 hours for us to see some change. 24 hours for it to reach their peak color.
I had done this and then I happened to see that "Almost Unschoolers" had done it this week too. She shows how much little water you actually need for it. She also has some extra links for it too. (Scroll down about 3 post)http://almostunschoolers.blogspot.com
I love this and completely forgot about it as a science option. *big smile* I hope you have a great day with your students! Grow in Him knowing He is always with you. Sinerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!
I was so excited about the stie the other gal shared I put it in my side bar for EASY access. Thanks ever so much! *big smile* Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!
I laughed out loud when I read what you wrote "she was making music and I stifled her creative talent" hahahahah. What a fun experiment. I'm not sure how my kids would do - since it takes a few hours. They might go bananas waiting for the results to show! ☺
Oh - they're going to absorb the colors, aren't they? Then you'll have a rainbow!

I didn't know that was how you did that! I'll have to try that here!! How long does it take for the flowers to change?
