Thanksgiving 2015

"Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love . . . for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things." (Psalm 107: 7-9)

One of my sons said, "We always have the best Holidays! I am glad it will be like this forever."
At that point we just looked at each other.

Beloved said, "It won't be like this all the time. When you get older you will have your own traditions and family that you spend the Holidays with!"

All the Children looked at me.

I said, "When you get older you will have your own families and your wives/husband's families also to celebrate the Holidays with too. I know that you won't be at my house every Holiday all at the same time.  So, let's make the most of the memories we can make today while you are little."

A Day with my Beloved

"I love my Beloved!"

Beloved and I took a day trip to San Diego. We went to Cononado Island.  We stayed at the Navy Lodge which is the base known to for "The Home of the Navy Helicopters."   We hung out underneath the Helicopter flight pattern on the beach.  We had great music.  Beach Sunset. Fantastic Food!

This is a clam. I rescued several of them as the tide was going out.  They were so big!

Relaxing!

A Day Date

"Love My Man!"

My Beloved took me jewelry shopping! We saw the "War Room". We went to our favorite restaurants. The Botanical Gardens. Hiked a Mountain where I had great reception of the Ga Bull dog game. I hiked it in a dress and sandals - so not a big deal.  He also took me to a cowboy dinner show where the songs were the "true" ole cowboy songs from the 1930/40. "Thanks" to my Parents who offered to watch all 5 kiddos so we could get away for a full day. Far from family and no babysitters is a typical military Life! So, we are Super Grateful! We have never gone off ever for a full day in 11 years since having children. A rare treat.

The Little Man turns 10.

"Happy Birthday big boy!"

The Little man turned 10 a few weeks back and he went on his 10 year old birthday trip.  Daddy and I give the children a 10 year old birthday trip where they get to go some where special with just Daddy.  The other children and I stay here at home and get text messages and pictures as the 10 year old child's adventure unfolds.

The Little Man's adventure starts with a long car ride!  He spent several nights at the Lego Hotel.  The Lego Hotel Rooms are decorated in theme. They stayed in the Knight room all decorated in Knights and Legos.  Each room has a Lego box for the children to play with during their stay.   And, in the Knight room, there is a treasure box that is locked with a combination. There are clues to help discover the combination. In order to get each number you had to follow the clue around and gather the numbers as you walk around the hotel.

Of course, they did Lego Land.

And, then for another adventure activity.  Dad took the Little Man kayaking in the Ocean bay in caves! They saw lots of seals. They didn't get many pictures. They were busy making memories and trying not to get wet.

Memorial Day 2015

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." - John 15:13

Memorial Day 2015 ~ Every Memorial Day, our Family takes a moment to remember our Military Family who we miss so much due to them paying the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Our tradition is to send off Balloons no matter where we are at on Memorial Day. Today, we are in Yuma, Arizona. We released these balloons in a farmers field off of Hwy 95. The owner of the field placed a "Tiny Church" for weary travelers to "Pause, Rest, and Worship". It was a sweet, unique little place to watch these balloons fly towards Heaven in honor of them and to pray for ALL of our Gold Star Families!

Little Lady turned 11

"Happy Birthday to you." - Birthday quote

We rolled into Houston, Texas recently.  We will stay just a few nights and then move along.  We are at a campground where the locals that live here in the campground are mostly full time RVers who work for the refineries.  This is just a base camp as we visit things in the area.

We hooked up with a Pilot friend who flies with a local "emergency helicopter" transport for the area. He gave the children a view of the helicopter which they really enjoyed.  We will hang out with them for dinner another night and then hit the road.

However, it is the Little Lady's special day!
The Little Lady turned 11 today.
So, we traveled to Galvaston, Texas for the day.
We took in the Aquarium Pyramid, Rainforest Pyramid and an Aviation Museum.
