" The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: The bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does." - William Blake
I can't believe I found something that trumps Science experiments!
We needed some copy work and I chose something that concentrates on drawing the Psalms.
They read a passage of scripture, copy the theme of the Psalm, then draw the suggested assignment.
It is the new favorite subject!
The Little Lady's scripture drawings.
(You are to draw a tree planted by water)
(You were to draw something in a shelter)
The Little Man's scripture drawings.
I am amazed at the individual drawings.
They don't pay attention to each other's drawings at all.
So, I really get to see how their brains process and interpret what they think things mean!
It has been interesting so far.
Charming! And I really love that quote from Blake - something to think about.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool way to do sooooooo much learning. I think I will have to have the boys do some of this kind of schooling. You are so smart and thank you for sharing your ideas with us.

What a wonderful idea! I'll have to try this with my children.
ReplyDeleteI found your blog via Mary's Little Corner, and love it! I am your newest follower and look forward to reading more posts in the future. :) I would love to have you stop by and visit me sometime. :)
Many blessings!
This is another one of your great ideas. The pictures are so cute. I love it. Enjoy your day and God bless.
ReplyDeleteGiggle. Coming up with a theme and something to draw with each chapter would hurt my brain! ;) So, I cheat! Notgrass Company and Christian Distributors has "Draw to Learn the book of Psalms", "Draw to Learn the Life of Christ", "Draw to Learn the book of Acts", and "Draw to Learn the book of Proverbs". I just make them do them in little notebooks so I can have the added bonus of calling it copy work! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow precious! Love the idea.
