Roadschooling Campground Style

We are roadschooling. Simply put: learning on the road. - Quoting the Full Time RV Family - The Lundy5

This is a little peak on how it worked for us the first day that we went full force with the subjects after getting all settled in our camping spot.

We do Bible History and Devotions first.
Then, a little of this..

Then a little bit of that...
Writing

Then, a little bit of this...

Then, a little bit of that...
Math Word Problems

Then, a little more of this...

Then, a little bit of that...
English

Then, a little bit of this...

And, A LOT more of this..

I read them their History.
We read other books and then we do an activity.
Then, we did a little bit more of this...

Then, a little bit of that...
Science -
The Little Lady is doing Botany

Little Man is doing Astronomy.
He is working on his journal too.

Then, there is more of this...

Nature Hikes along with a Snack.

And, then a little more of that school type stuff...
Free Reading

And, when you finish your mystery in about 2 hours and you don't want to go outside,  you can go on to another Box Car book and that requires you to change places!

And, on it goes until each subject is complete.

This is slightly different then when we are hotel hopping on trips with Beloved. Hotel Roadschooling means we do it all the subjects and then we get out of the Hotel Room fast to do something fun and educational.

Well, this is what campground roadschooling looks like unless we are exploring a Museum or a State/National Park.

I wonder what other roadschoolers do when they just sit for a bit in one location?

  3. I really enjoyed seeing how you manage "roadschooling". It looks like you have it all under control. I'm sure everyone has a great time. One of the best things about homeschooling is flexibility. Enjoy your day and God bless.

  4. Chelle, I spent hours reading after everyone went to bed. I made myself to at home in your homeschool blog! (giggle) By the way, you live in a beautiful country! New Zealand is a favorite place of ours!

  6. Love it! Such fun. We're having a hard time finding books that are acceptable (to us) to have Anna read. she went through all the Harry Potter books - now what?! Ha. She can't go read a 150 page book - she doesn't even want to look at them. Ha ha. She says they are not long enough. Then there are some great books out there - but again, she's only 9 and we're a little concerned with some topics - even though her reading level is above average - doesn't necessarily mean we want her reading more mature things!!

  12. I love hearing about other family's life on the road with kids. I also road-school as well, I have 2 children ages 4 & 10. Our day is a bit different. In the morning I have my daughter get online and do her Time4Learning while my son watches some educational tv. Them My son does his Time4learning while my daughter does a bit of reading. Then we take a lunch break and then go out side and get a lil exercise. Then we come back in and work on what ever unit study we have chosen that month. Then afterwards we just relax and enjoy the rest of the day :)
Thanks for sharing your day and letting me share mine~> Loved it!
