Finally.
The first time he picked up a book by himself.
He is 8.
Now, I have hope.
* 3 times through the 100 Lessons to Read book
* Phonics Museum for 1st and 2nd grade
* Spelling with Spell, Write to Read ( s-l-o-w-l-y!)
*Lots of reading aloud by Mommy
Then, out of desperation, a whole year off.
.... And, then it happened!
He is reading!

ReplyDeleteNow I don't feel alone....my two boys did the same, I'm hopeful for my third. Other moms I talked to kept telling me, "boys sometimes need more time, by 10 they will get it!" Yup, just this year my 10yr old finally started reading on his own. Ahh, one of those mommy moments. <3
