Sights and Taste of Newport KY

To us, family means putting your arms around each other and being there.- Barbara Bush

Beloved’s business trip has us hanging out in Lexington, Ky.

We have been to Lexington a good bit so Beloved decided to have a little Family outing up near the Kentucky/Ohio border to see what the up state has to offer for a lovely afternoon.

We drove an hour and half to Newport, Kentucky’s Riverwalk
and had lunch out on the veranda of Mitchell’s Fish Market.

It was a lovely lunch with beautiful weather, a wonderful view, and absolutely delicious salmon!

A trip to the Newport Aquarium was the Little One’s gift for the afternoon.
They are petting the sharks!

Snack time required us to be taste testers of a few deserts out on the Riverwalk porch. The boys ordered carrot cake! The girls ordered Shark Fin Fudge Cake. I won’t be revealing the size of the girls desert but I don’t mind telling on the boys! Yep, that is one slice of a 7 layer carrot cake!

A late afternoon walk over the Ohio River was required!

A little late afternoon snooze!

And then we finished our day with a duck tour of the Historic Downtown Areas.
