9 Patch Quilt Pillow

I'm creative. You can't expect me to be neat too. - Unknown

In keeping with the theme of sewing and cutting straight lines. I found a simple pattern on how to do a 9 Patch Quilt Pillow here.

We measured out and drew 9 5" squares and 1 large 14" square.

The Little Lady cut the squares out but wasn't as careful as she had been before with her other projects because she was starting to feel comfortable.

Learning how to sew straight lines still...

When all was finished, she got an "Eye" lesson on why it was important to make sure that you cut exactly on the line. Not all her squares matched up exactly. However, it is still a funky pillow and a valuable lessons in cutting and piecing.

  1. Your children are doing a great job with their sewing! I didn't teach my daughters to sew until they were in their early teens. I'm amazed that yours are doing this at such an early age!
