I have been trying to find a round wooden dough bowl with in my price range for about a year now. Although small cracks and small holes do not necessarily depreciate the value of the bowls since these items were made to be used while homemaking, I won't buy them if they do. I am picky when it comes to buying old Primitives.
Instant Love! No holes, no cracks, and a beautiful color. It is round too! It is definitly old probably from the 1920s or more. The ridges are uneven which totally makes me laugh because it is definitly not a reproduction. It is just perfect for my table. Now what do I put in it? I am thinking colored glass balls to match my pillows.(Note to self: Use a bread twist to hide those cords!)
A wondeful treasure!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bowl and wonderful stiching in the previous post. Great job! Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I went to an estate auction last weekend and saw some of the neatest things. :) I have enjoyed reading your blog, sorry for not always taking time to post a comment!
ReplyDeleteThe baby sure is getting big! :)
Love, Cass
Oh I have caught up once again on your last several posts...
ReplyDeleteYour bowl...so pretty....patience paid off in waiting for the best one to come your way.
I remember doing leather crafts with my Grandfather when I was your daughters age. I still have a little leather bracelet that was like a tiny coin purse and could hold about the size of a quarter :)
Now what would have the sewing table held originally? Being one who loves to sew, I love finding old sewing goodies such as that...I have not seen anything like that before!!
Have a blessed weekend.
Melissa
