A Different Homecoming

"In the steady gaze of the horse shines a silent eloquence that speaks of love and loyalty, strength and courage. It is the window that reveals to us how willing in his spirit, how generous his heart." Unknown

After spending well over 48 hours on a plane, I am sure the only thing that Beloved wanted to do was sleep! However, he arrived home from war just in time for the Kiddos horseback riding lesson. And, since the boys just wanted to hang out at the tire swing, the Little Lady became particurally excited that I encouraged her Daddy to ride along side her.

Beloved is doing some horse whispering before hitting the trails.
I love the gentleness of my Beloved just as much as I love the warrior toughness that he commands when he is at war. It is such a perfect romantic mix!

At the end of the ride, he had a hitch hiker! I don't think he minded.
Doesn't he look energized? Horseback riding in the woods at a easy pace was relaxing! He had a very busy deployment so it does my heart good to see him smile. We do so many war deployments it is hard to keep up with the actual number, (probably getting close to 15), but as usual there isn't ever any "public fanfair". He just slips in and out of the house so every single homecoming ends up being different.

  1. Oh praise the Lord he is home safe!!! Some horse back riding was probably just perfect to take his mind off of issues over there.
