Stain Glass Pilot

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.” ~ Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

I adored this stain glass picture because it is a depiction of a Pilot looking up at Jesus. It is in the "Fallen Soldier Chapel".

This week is our "units" wonsa celebration. (aka: A time to celebrate our units history, the soldiers and the families.) The whole week is full of activities such as golf and soft ball tournaments, cross fit tournament, award ceremony, family picnic, a motorcycle bike ride and then it rounds off the week with our unit formal for the soldiers and their wives.

During mid week, today, is the Unit's Memorial Service for our Fallen Soldiers -- silent heroes, but ones who definitely revealed true beauty during their missions.  You may not think you know them but you do in your patriotic heart. Their comrades fly at night and are silent in name but notorious for their deeds in keeping our nation safe.

  1. Thanks for the post. I love to read your perspective and get a glimpse into your life as the wife of a military pilot. Thanks for sharing the information that you share. It is not well known to all of us - even though we enjoy the benefits of their work!
Have a great week of celebration!

  3. The windows are beautiful. Your words remind me of how thankful we are for all our soldiers. How different our lives would be without their protection. Enjoy your week and God bless.

  5. Beautiful stained glass! I sat our kids down the other day and talked about how my brother and father and grandfather were all soldiers during a war. It just reinforced how thankful and proud I am of them, and of all the military people that sacrifice daily for our freedom. :)
