3 On Horses Full Time

There is no secret so close as that between a rider and his horse." -Robert Smith Surtees

Today was the first time all  three of them were able to go out on the trail together!!!

Normally, the Little Gentleman gets a quick ride at the end of the lesson. He just graduated up when it comes to more riding time today.  A full Lesson! He is so thrilled. Everyone else was okay with it too but then I got the report that the Little Gentleman talked and asked questions the entire time. Everyone agrees that it will be an adjustment in enjoying their peaceful rides! (giggle)

Today, was the first time that the Little Man rode a horse. He has been riding ponies. He was very brave because Max is big.  He was a little nervous at first but once he got on, it took him only 3 seconds to feel comfortable.  He even trotted a little apparently.  He says, "I will canter on Max when I am older." I am glad he knows his comfort level and that my heart is in agreement with that comfort level!

All of this allows the Little Lady to come off of a horse that obeys her very well and work with a more stubborn pony.  Her trainer says she needs the challenge in working with different temperaments.

The change is going to be nice!!!  I am now left only to listen to the Little Miss saying, "horse and helmet!" She thinks she should be able to do what they do!  But, instead,  she will only spend time picking flowers, swing on the tire swing, and if I can time it right -- take a nap while I read a book!

    Have a great day!

  2. Oh how fun! I remember riding my neighborhood friends horses in exchange to help grooming them. It was worth it. I have such fond memories. Awe how sweet with your littlest. Yes, and time to read in quiet is bliss.

    Blessings and ((HUGS))

  5. Beautiful......I think with all the riders in the family, you need a horse ranch.
