Looks like Home for Awhile

I long, as does every human being, to be at home wherever I find myself. - M. Angeleo

It looks like this will be home for awhile.

Military housing won't be available until late summer (sooner if there is a miracle - they are building them - there are only 27 homes for the field grade officers right now). As of right now, we are number 11 on the waiting list!

Unless we put a contract on a house to rent or buy in the next two weeks we won't be settled in a place before the baby comes!

And, as far as renting, it appears that it is inflated here. We will keep looking though in hopes to find a gem but a lot of the homes are not available to rent until the summer which gets us no closer to being settled before I deliver! So, another reason just to wait until the military housing is available, it would just be a little while longer wait after the rentals are available.

Knowing, that we could be here only 2 years, it seems silly to buy a house. Don't you think? There would be no return!

As you can see, there is a lot to consider but it all just leads to waiting....

Our desire is to wait on the Lord to open the door to a Home in His timing not necessarily what we consider to be good timing! So, it is possible that we will be making Spring and Summer memories in our camper.

  1. Carmen, you are such an inspiration! I don't know how I would be able to keep my sanity. However, since it will be spring and summer hopefully the weather will be mild and you and the children will be able to spend a lot of time outdoors! Hope you are feeling well and getting rest.

  2. Oh goodness, that ol' Uncle Sam should be a bit more thoughtful of a mommy ready to deliver soon. The travel trailer is a nice one though but that's probably not much consoloation for a tired mommy.

Thanks for sharing with us your surroundings. They look pretty from what I see. But I'm praying for God's best whatever that may be. : )

  4. Well at least it is familiar, comfortable and just like home. I am sure this baby will feel right at home in your arms whether in the travel trailer or in a stick built home.

  6. If anyone can do it, I believe it would be you. You are an amazing woman. I will be praying that God will show you all what His plans are. What appears as a challenge to us moms is a great adventure to our children. God bless.
