Produce Delivered to My Door

"Agriculture not only gives riches to a nation, but the only riches she can call her own." - Samuel Johnson

I joined our states local areas co-op. Although technically it really isn't a co-op but it works similar to one. A local family owns the business and they have it set up for home delivery!  All you do is shop on line from their "Organic approved Farmers" who live all over the state. The Farmers sale their food to this home business. The home business packages up your items. You can only shop on the weekend -- and that is online! Then the Family Business delivery drivers bring your  items to your front door in a cooler on a set day of the week.

Having no idea what this would be like....
This past week, I ordered just the miscellaneous  produce box.
This was what was in it.
Can not tell you how awesome this was....
I will have to explore outside of their produce box items once I get comfortable with their set up.

I am now totally envious of all those who use to have milk delivered to the doors!
They deliver milk in sweet little glass bottles!  (sigh)
It would be on my list to buy if my family didn't go through about 5 to 7 gallons a week.
I do not joke.
I am well aware that I need several cows.

Okra (in the plastic bag)
lettuce
collards
zucchini
4 cucumbers
Squash
Apples

Enough apples to fill up a bowl.
We are going to have Apple Crisp!

  1. Awesome! The produce looks great. I understand about milk. There are only 4 of us and we go through about 3 gal. a week. Enjoy your day and God bless.

  2. That's great. (I remember milk delivered in glass bottles when I was a kid.)
