USO Father/Daughter Church Banquet

A daughter may out grow your lap but not out grow your heart. -
Unknown

Look who is old enough to go with the Little Lady to the banquet this year!
The Little Miss was so excited to be like her big sister!
And, Daddy flew in just in time!

What would be a USO banquet without a military display?
These history buffs were asked to come and display their gear.

And, when you entered the door you were asked to put your name in a WW2 helmet for a prize drawing.

This era was resourceful.
So, of course, you couldn't get away without tasting "SPAM"  hors d'oeuvres.
Spam was the cool thing of the 1940's.
(The boys of the church were the servers of the food)

The Church was decorated with USO flags and replica war patriotic posters of the WW2.
Uncle Sam Wants you!

The tables were set with patriotic pinwheels and stars.

    1. I don't like Spam either, Mrs. Lisa! My Father In Law has it with tomatoes apparently and it is one of his favorite meals. Just the thought grosses me out. ;)

  4. Oh how BEAUTIFUL! Your daughters, the photo of your hubby & the girls, the whole USO program....wonderful. And I learnt something about M&M's, that's neat! Funny about the Spam. I think it's disgusting too. You know the SPAM company is in my state of Minnesota. One year I taught a Minnesota class in homeschool co-op and each of the children could have a sample of Spam. Only 50% of the kids were brave enough to try it and only a very few liked it. :)
